The architectural theme of this wedding venue, overlooking kunanyi / Mt Wellington, relies on a strong modular linearity. The reception and accommodation units are constructed using recycled shipping containers. Extending out of the central reception building, the lawn perimeter is defined by gabion wall modules and mesh fencing punctuated with spotted gum timber seats. Three flights of concrete stairs connect the paved levels and lead the eye from the highly formal upper components down into the unspoilt bushland with gravel paths below. A high degree of technical precision was required to achieve the desired grandeur and formality.
